Where we stand

We have now elected our first African American President in America, but where do we stand now?  Are race relations any better.  I don't know the anwser to that....yet.  Only time will tell.  I have been against Obama for a very long time.  He has honestly scared me.  With all his connections there is no way anyone else could have been elected with everyone he has associated with.  So how did he get elected?  The way I see it is there isn't but a couple ways.  The people wasn't listening. Example, Joe Biden was announced as John McCain at a rally.  I mean you would think that people would get mad and heckle the guy who made that mistake...right??? No they cheered as Biden came out smiling and waving.  Another way Obama could have been elected selective hearing.  At one rally a young lady was crying and the camera man asked her something and she said I don't have to worry about putting gas in my car or paying my mortgage.  If I help him he will help me.  I mean seriously?  People only hear what they want.  FREE MONEY!!!  And finally...well because he is an African American.  People are so conserned with making history that they aren't seeing past how much damage he could do that they voted based soley on the fact that he is half black. That is not a reason to put someone as the leader of the free world.  The one thing that I hope is that Obama lives up to a typical politician and doesn't do anything he promised.  That would be the best thing he could do for this country.
